Renovation Files

We just bought a unit which is in need of some MAJOR renovations (think new kitchen, floors and bathroom and you get the pretty picture), so naturally, this shot my friends, is going straight to the renovations folder.

Don't even think about throwing a dinner party before reading this.

Table setting, it's something that we all should know, but in reality, probably don't have a clue about.

Line I Love: Grace Hester Designs

I just finished styling a MASSIVE shoot for a mag where I discovered this sweet-as-pie etsy shop, Grace Hester Designs. If you have a bun in the oven, or know someone who does, you owe it to yourself to swing by.

She also designs adorable, paper goods , over here, at Grace Hester Papers. Check it!

Try Something New Tuesday: Carb-loaded artwork.

This reminds me of the kind of art and craft we used to do with my mum when we were kids. I think that's why I like it so much. Oh, and it's cheap, too.

Here's the visual step-by-step, courtesy of the incredibly talented gang over at Oh Happy Day!

It's Friday and I'm In Love

We've got birthday drinks for a friend tonight, a big lunch with my family on Saturday and I plan on squeezing in a Bikram yoga session, in-between catching up on a LOT of work.

What exciting plans do you have for the weekend? Spill...

Artwork in the bathroom: Yey or nay?

I've always thought it was a massive No No with all the condensation, but everyone* seems to be getting in on the act. Thoughts?

*slight exaggeration.

How did we not think of this earlier?

This is a first world issue, I know, but my incredibly clever friend over at theEDIT sent me a link this morning and I had to share it.

Not sure about you, but trying to empty a dust pan into a bin really peeves me, so this funnel is probably the most practical invention I've seen to date. I want one.

Quite possibly the coolest couple on the planet: Mr and Mrs Hince.

Could they seriously get any cuter?

Here's what their table arrangements looked like...

If you're prone to mistakes, you need this in your life

If someone had told me in high school that erasers made for great art, I would have laughed my bottle green tights off. My collection were usually defaced with Yes and No's and crude words, courtesy of bored class mates. Gosh, those were the days...

If you only buy one piece of furniture this year, make it this one...

I'm talking about the Componibili, of course!

It's seriously the most adaptable piece of furniture in all the land. I've used them in shoots for kids rooms, as bedside tables, and recently in a bathroom and you can't go wrong.

Just to recap, it's the Componibili designed by Anna Castelli Ferrieri for Kartell and it'll set you back around $200 from Top 3 By Design. Buy it, then wonder how you lived without it.
