More DIY Action

Okay, this DIY folder is getting out of control. When you're done making stamps, why not start on this headboard. Too easy.

My place: Colette Harvey

Here are some shots of Aussie stylist/public relations agent, Colette Harvey's apartment that I styled for SHOP Til You Drop magazine last year. A little French, a whole lot nautical, it boasts the perfect mix of family treasures, combined with flea market finds and classic buys. Not to mention, the sun beams through the joint like a magnet to a fridge.

Follow Colette's lead and stock up on a few black and white frames from here.

Got a fancy scarf that you'll never wear? Frame it! From memory, this one is Hermes.

I'll let you in on a little secret. The flowers? They're fake. The trick to making faux blooms work is to stick with one type of flower per bunch and avoid housing them in glass vases - the no water factor is a dead giveaway.

Classic and quirky, you can snare a clock just like this one for around $130, over here:

Can't-believe-it's-that-easy customised stamps.

I was looking for moustache-printed products, like mugs and tea towels, when I stumbled upon this DIY post and almost lost my mind. Quick, easy and virtually mess-free, it's my kinda DIY project.

P.S If you haven't paid The Sweet Occasion a visit already, you're nuts. Go check it out, it's the definition of DIY amazement.

Here's what you'll need to make your every own fancy shmancy customised stamp:
1 x Pen
1 x X Acto knife. You can buy one here.
1 x Ink pad. Pick one up for next to nothing, here.
A couple of erasers - I'm sure you've got a few floating in the top drawer of your desk at work. If not, raid the kids pencil cases.
PS The shipping tags are optional, but in my opinion, worth ever penny. You can buy a stack, here.
Here goes...
Step 1: Draw the shape...
Step 2: Outline the shape...
Step 3: Remove rubber outside the boundary...
Step 4: Get ready to stamp...
Too easy!

Food, with a cool, graphic, minimalist slant.

Can you imagine the fun the food stylist would have had on this shoot? Here are some snippets from IKEA's baking book which boasts 30 classic Swedish biscuit and cake recipes. YUM.

If all cookbooks looked this good, I'd probably bake a hell of a lot more.

Crocheted Lace Floor Rug.

I want one. Except, I'd probably hang it on a big blank wall. You can buy it here. You know you want too...

Try it Tuesday: tea tin herb garden

Remember the post from a while back about unconventional ways to show off flowers? Well, why not do the same with your herbs?

Talk about prettying up a mundane windowsill...

Nosy Parker: NY socialite.

You've probably heard of her mum, she's a LITTLE author by the name of Danielle Steele. You have? Well that's great, 'cos here's her stylist-slash-model daughter, Vanessa Traina's New York city apartment.

Smell the money!
